Halitosis | Dealing with Bad Breath
While Halitosis or as it is commonly know ‘Bad Breath’ might be caused occasionally by unsatisfactory oral hygiene but also additional underlying reasons which lend to Halitosis. Frequently, these could be hard to address in spite of all the attempts to keep a good oral hygiene. Such a situation could cause great deal of distress and may lead in social and work problems including personal relationships and requiring great effort to bear or overcome at work.
The cause of Halitosis
There is a list of reasons for Bad Breath that includes:
* Poor personal oral hygiene
* Oral cavity disease such as periodontitis, gingivitis, gum abscesses and boils.
*Large number of odor inducing micro-organisms in the oral cavity and gastrointestinal area.
* Chronic or acute sinus infection
* Candidiasis; yeast infection or thrush
* Some medicinal drugs; particularly those that result in a feeling of dry mouth
* Tobacco smoking
* A few foods could result in Bad Breath such as garlic, onions and a rich protein diets
* Compromised digestion and a sluggish liver
* Irregular and slow elimination
Occasionally Halitosis is detected by a displeasing or acrid taste on your tongue and mouth.
Also, you could check out of any odor in your saliva.You can check it by doing the following. First lick the inside of your wrist joint and then smell it. In case it gives a repelling kind of odor, your breath isn’t as fresh as you may think it is.
It is likely that you may have Halitosis without knowing. If you detect that people incline to step aside from you while you talk, hide their mouths with their hand or move their faces away then Halitosis might be a problem.
