<p>“Once again, for no apparent reason, this morning I was feeling nervous and depressed. I suspect that my belief to be perfect in order for me to feel happiness is the cause of it. Yet, every day there are so many variables to try accomplish perfection that it is impossible to achieve. Still, when I have driven myself hard to Perfectionism I discovered that the resulting happiness lasts for ten seconds and then I am exhausted.</p>
<p>“Lately, procrastination is in some way wrapped up in this physical or mental effort too. Perhaps I don&#8217;t even attempt things because I know if it is not done perfectly I will not value it at any rate. Most of my life, my critically urged drive served me to accomplish some impressive things (including opening up my own business in L.A.). </p>
<p>For some reason, I feel that if I don&#8217;t criticize and penalize myself then I&#8217;ll never go anywhere or do anything. Yet the truth is, right now, I&#8217;m not actually productive. There must be a different way!”&#8230;.</p>
<p>Perfectionism, the indefinite need for perfection, can also be seen in light of an uncontrolled, obsessive disorder in examining the feelings and the repetitive thought-patterns and beliefs that are at the very root of this challenge.</p>
<p>Perfectionism is a form of control. The offended, critical part of us thinks that, “If I am perfect (whatever that means!) then people will like me, love me, look up to me, approve of me, pay attention to me, or validate me. Then I will feel worthy. I can manipulate how people feel about me by being perfect.” </p>
<p>The need to control how people feel about us comes from making others Being the agent for defining our worth. The assumed belief is that if someone likes you, then you are worthy, and so you can be happy. But, as Linda said, “the resulting happiness last about ten seconds and I am exhausted.” Perfectionism is exhausting and the good feelings are very ephemeral.</p>
<p>In addition, getting to be perfect in order to gain approval frequently leads to procrastination. The fear of disapproval and failure can be so great that it stops you from taking the natural action you need to take. Judging yourself to stimulate yourself to do things “perfectly” often backlashes, leading to paralysis rather than creativeness and productivity, as it has with Karen.</p>
<p>Linda states that, “There must be another way!” There is, indeed, another way &#8211; a much better way to achieve.</p>
<p>When you choose to define your own worth rather than handing that all important responsibility to others, you will cease worrying about what others believe and feel about you. The problem is that, for most of us, our parents and other adults defined our worth when we are young. Of course we saw adults as having the authorization to do that. As we grew older, we granted our peers the authority to define us. But at some point, we need to shift from others having the authority to define our worth to our own higher, wise self or spiritual counsel having the authority.</p>
<p>In addition, we need to shift from shaping our worth based on extrinsic qualities to our worth being based on intrinsic soul qualities. As long as your worth is established on execution, you will worry about results. But when your worth is based on your intrinsic qualities of caring, compassion, goodness, empathy, and joy, then it is never on the line involving your performance. </p>
<p>This will free you to create and produce with freedom and joy, knowing that you can make all the slips in the world and still be worthy. Perfection and perfectionism never comes into the picture when your performance is a joyful expression of your intrinsic worth, rather than of the controlling form; what others think and feel about you.</p>
<p>When you open to seeing your true, intrinsic worth, and embrace the beauty and marvel of your beautiful essence, you will stop thinking about perfection, and you will stop thinking about performance and what others think about you. You will know that you are already “perfect” in your essence, and that there is nothing to prove.</p>
<p>When you know your worth as intrinsic instead of based on your performance, life becomes so much easier and less exhausting. Instead of your addiction to perfection freezing you, you are free to fully express yourself and demonstrate your gifts and talents. Expressing yourself creatively and fruitfully becomes fun rather than dread!</p>
<p>The greatest gift anyone suffering from perfectionism can give themselves is self-acceptance.</p>

Pure <strong>Lithium</strong>, (<strong>Li</strong>), like calcium, sodium or potassium, is a naturally occurring inorganic chemical element. It is one of the alkali-metal groups. Lithium is found abundantly in certain rocks and the sea and in small amounts in plant life and animal tissues. In addition it shows up in water, notably in the springs and spas.

<p>
It is present in the earth’s crust to the extent of nearly 0.006 wt% (Habashi, 1997). It is the 27th most abounding chemical element in nature. Lithium isn’t a needful mineral for plant life but it does promote plant development
</p>
<p>
<strong>Lithium</strong> is employed therapeutically on membrane transport proteins when dealing with manic depressive illness. Studies have demonstrated that lithium affects the flow of sodium transport in nerve and muscular tissue cells. Sodium affects enervation (mania). Typical manic episodes include; motor hyperactivity, shortened need for sleep, flight of thoughts, grandiosity, high spirits, deficient judgment, aggression, and potential hostility.
</p>
<p>
On oral ingestion, metallic lithium is mildly toxic; however, physical tolerance differs between individuals. The most common target organ for lithium toxicity is the CNS; additional potential side effects of lithium ingestion include urticaria; trouble breathing; swelling of your face, throat, tongue or lips.
</p>
<p>
The ability to tolerate lithium is better during the acute manic phase and drop-off when manic symptoms lessen. Lithium toxicity it is close associated with blood serum lithium levels, and could take place at doses more or less to therapeutic levels. Have emergency medical assistance if you have any of these signs of an allergic response. Patients getting diuretic drugs should have blood serum lithium levels supervised closely and the lithium dose corrected if needed.
</p>
<p>
<strong>Lithium</strong> doesn’t have a recognized biological function and doesn’t seem to be an essential chemical element for life. However, the quantity of lithium in the human body is roughly 7 mg. Lithium is absorbed from the GI tract. In places like Chile where lithium-rich Salinas could contain up to 1500 mg/L Li, the amount of lithium ingestion might reach 10 mg/day without any demonstration of harmful effects to the local population.
</p>
<p>
A follow-up review of the dietary uptake of lithium has suggested that the minimum human adult (physiological) lithium demand is calculated to be less than 0.1 mg/day. Established on lithium intake data in different nations, a tentative recommendation of daily intake is 1.0mg lithium/day for a 70 kg adult.

<strong>Magnesium</strong>, (<strong>Mg</strong>), is an essential mineral that accounts only for 0.05 percent of the body’s total weight. Approximately 70 percent of the mineral is located in the bones and the rest in soft tissues such as muscles and in body fluids. Magnesium, like calcium is a cation (divalent). It is heavily involved in many metabolic processes and it is widely distributed in foods especially green leafy vegetables. It’s an essential element of chlorophyll

<p>
Approximately 50 percent of the magnesium from dietary sources is absorbed in the small intestine through passive and active absorption. The rate of absorption is influenced by the parathyroid hormones and the amount of calcium, phosphate and lactose in the body. High magnesium intake reduces the rate of absorption and low intake increases the rate. Aldosterone a hormone produced by the kidneys regulates the rate of magnesium loss through kidneys. Diuretics and alcohol increase magnesium loss in the urine.
</p>
<p>
<strong>Magnesium</strong> plays an extensive and vital role in many biological and physiological processes. It is responsible for more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the body and its presence is required in many energy-yielding compounds in cells, ATP. It also contributes to the DNA and RNA synthesis, in bone structure by abiding calcium and potassium metabolism, nerve and heart function, insulin release from pancreas, decreasing blood pressure and prevention with heart rhythm abnormalities.
</p>
<p>
Magnesium also helps to promote the absorption of other minerals such as phosphorus, calcium, potassium and sodium and the utilization of the B-complex vitamins and C and E. The conversion of blood sugar in to energy it needs sufficient amounts of magnesium and for the regulation of body temperature. High cholesterol levels and high intake of proteins increases the need for this mineral. Magnesium also helps to prevent accumulation of calcium and phosphorus deposits in the urinary tract by keeping them soluble.
</p>
<p>
Approximately 50 percent of <strong>dietary magnesium</strong> comes from green leafy and other vegetables, fruit and grains and 30 percent from milk and its products, eggs and chocolate. The Recommended Daily Allowance is 310 mg/ day for adult women and 400 mg/day for men. Magnesium deficiency develops very slowly. The need of magnesium increases slightly with some individuals over the age of 30.
</p>
<p>
Toxicity it is not a problem in healthy people with a typical diet. However, large amounts can lead to diarrhea and toxicity can occur from not food source magnesium in older individuals, in the event of kidney failure or if kidney functions is compromised.

Nonmetal elements give Anions: chlorine ( chloride), iodine ( iodide) sulfur (sulfate) phosphorus ( phosphate) and fluorine ( fluoride). Combination of both cations and anions give salts including sodium chloride, sodium iodide and calcium phosphate.
</p>
<p>
The body needs many different minerals, more than 40, for its function . One mineral category is required in greater quantities and is classed as macro-minerals.
</p>
<p>
Micro-minerals or Trace minerals is a second category of minerals required in much lower amounts. The daily requirements could vary from that of some micrograms (mcgs), to that of some milligrams (mgs).
</p>
<p>
A third categorization is called micro trace or ultra trace minerals. The amount of this category of mineral nutrients required is not well known but they are usually found in tiny amounts of just parts per million.
</p>
<p>
The double Noble Prize winner, late Dr. Linus Pauling, once said. &#8220;You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment to a <strong>mineral nutrient </strong>.&#8221; deficiency. Virtually everyone would think of amino acids, vitamins, and essential fatty acids before giving any thought at all to the importance of minerals.
</p>
<p>
Minerals take on almost countless roles inside the human body. Apart from being participants of just about every enzymatic reaction, they are also needed for the make of and as a component of cell membranes, connective tissue such as bones, cartilage, ligaments, sinews muscles, soft tissues including venous blood vessels, arterial blood vessels, and also brain tissue.
</p>
<p>
The trouble is that a lot of us might be lacking in many mineral nutrients attributed to the very harsh reality that these important nutrients are found in only small amounts in foods. We exist in a technological period of time able to fiddle with the genetically inherited codes of crops we grow and along the way we produced immense size of strawberries that bear little or no taste of strawberries and broccoli that holds half the amount of magnesium and calcium of its earlier cousins.

Although a daily <strong>multi-vitamin</strong> pill cannot substitute available nutrients in a balanced diet, does it give you partial protection when you drift from that &#8220;perfect&#8221; diet? In a ideal world you should get all the vitamins and minerals you need from your food, but, for the great majority of us this is not exactly the case.

<p>
According to JAMA, Journal of the American Medical Association, research workers have been reporting as far back as in 2000 and advocate multivitamins as an affordable insurance against suboptimal nutrient ingestion.
</p>
<p>
Multi-vitamins could have short and long term benefits. In the short term you might anticipate to have enhanced levels of energy, better immunity to infection and coping better with stress. On the long term basis, benefits include better cardiovascular, bone, optic and immune health. Since we all live in the frantic 21st century there are a lot of reasons for potentially needing <strong>multivitamins</strong>.
</p>
<p>
Outcomes of a study by the Lewin group in 2003, US documented that daily use of multi-vitamins by older adults could result to more than $1.5 billion savings in Medicare across five years. The potential five year savings represented in part savings from reduced risk of hardening of the arteries, improved resistance to infection and less hospital stays.
